Melissa Schwenker with Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors has been an active member of Burlington Community for over 30 years. Is a graduate of Iowa State University with BA in Business Management. Was originally transferred to Southeast Iowa as a retail manager for JCPenny's of West Burlington. Moved into a District Manager job for Avon Products for 12 years. Left Avon towork at Burlington Chamber of Commerce as the Membership Director for 3 years. Which led her to the Managing Broker position at Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors.

Volunteering in the Southeast Iowa Melissa has helped with many groups: helped start the Burlington Community Thanksgiving Dinner over 25 years and still going, helped start Southeast Iowa Parrotheads as well ashost/organize multiple Trop Rock Concerts, helped start Woodphlock a local summer festival raising over $60,000 over 4 years going to local organizations. Graduate of the Greater Burlington Leadership class 2014 that raised $10,000 from Jack Hannah fundraiser. Past President of the Southeast Iowa Board of Realtors, a past board member for Transitions housing for the area homeless and currently serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board.
